Week 8: [June 13-June 19] ~ Last Saturday (12th) was the first day in 7 weeks I had gone without a headache. I had a descent day being able to move around more freely on my own, was able to help cook dinner. It felt good to wake up Sunday without my head pounding and the room spinning or tilting. However I got cocky! I told David I thought I could handle taking the kids out since they have been very understanding and have been dealing with the ups and downs of this whole ordeal. They have been wanting to see the Karate Kid remake (now as a lover of the original I MADE all the kids watch the original movie weeks ago before they would be allowed to see the remake). I was thinking that the movie would be low key and not too loud and I could tolerate being there. Well I was WRONG!! I came home with a headache and it is STILL with me today! (my follow-up appointment is Tues. June 22)... I HOPE to know something about a diagnosis then!
Enough about that!! The kids had Vacation Bible School this week, this was Nathanael's first year to do Middle School VBS and *sniff, his last, he will be doing Youth activities next year. But Madelynne will be doing Middle School activities next summer during VBS, and Yeah our house has two more kids to go through Middle School and Youth activities.
This year a difficult decision was made to let Zach attended Basketball Camp instead of VBS the first 3 days of the week. He had so much fun at camp, he did great at dribbling and shooting, which just happens to be the two main components of basketball, but this poor kid is soooooooo short! Height is at his disadvantage but shockingly his arms make up for his height shortage because he is strong and can hit the basket without any problems. He is still trying to perfect the getting the ball IN the net instead of bouncing off the rim! So he practices alot with a kid on the block. And for attending camp he not only got a t-shirt but his own regulation basketball, all the kids got one.
Saturday I rested all day so I could go the block party in our neighborhood. I was able to stay long enough to eat and chat with friends and neighbors. The Mills did an awesome job throwing a fantastic block party!! Everyone had a great time, even though David walked me home early while he went back and he and the kids stayed a bit longer.
