Friday I had yet another appointment for this fishing expedition to try and pin point what is going on with my body. This time I saw the rheumatologist and she was just awesome. She listened, answered and explained. My appointment was at 9:30 but I was told to be there at 9, and I saw her right on time and she spent 90 minutes answering, discussing and examining. And as a bonus she has a sense of humor!!
She ruled out a few things, but ordered 3 more blood panels to try and pinpoint, what she hopes, is a diagnosis. From this appointment I was also instructed to call the neurologist to get my prescription refilled since it appears to be helping with my headaches but to also try and get a sleep study or blood patch scheduled. The reasons for these? Well it is possible I am not getting enough oxygen when I sleep, thus the reason for the continued headaches. Not likely, so I get to see an AVPN to see if I qualify or if I need to go ahead to be tested for the blood patch. Why the blood patch? There is a possibility that when the spinal tap was done that the hole has not completely healed up so I have a slow leak in my back which is causing the headaches to linger. These are possibilities of why the headaches are lingering; but a cause for the originating headaches and symptoms are not being as easy to diagnose.
If neither one of those are done, then a next step has already been put in place but we're to try these two first, IF needed; if not then the next step will be put into action. Like I said earlier, we're on a fishing expedition.

Oh oh oh I remember the blood patch. I had the leaking issues after a c section and my headache got so bad after 3 days i thought the world was caving in on all sides. This nurse came in and told me what would help and we discussed it and I did it. Less then 30 mins after the patch I was great with no headache and ready to go home. Good luck I hope they find out what is wrong.
