4th of July

So I haven't fully gotten back into the swing of taking pictures of what is "picture" worthy, but I was able to remember to take a few here and there of some of the Fourth of July foods that were made. Here are just a few:

EXCUSE the nasty looking tins, I assure you they are clean, they just don't appear to look it .....

Made some Blue Berry jello, for some reason our store doesn't carry blue raspberry.  Tilted them in the muffin tins and refrigerated then until firm. We did ours overnight.

I then piped cool whip to just the tip of the jello and then covered in vanilla pudding that we attempted to turn red with red food coloring. We ran out of food coloring before it turned completely red.

Cinnamon roll pull apart bread.

I had some extra melted chocolate left over and I spread it on a piece of wax paper, and then covered it with marshmallows. I had every intention of having the kids eat this with gram crackers but after we broke it into pieces we all ate it just like it was. Chocolate and marshmallows.

Then we made chocolate covered pretzels that one of the kids had been begging to make since Spring, so we made them. They didn't turn out too bad. Word of caution .... some sprinkles come in FLAVORS .... I did not know this until we ate some of these. Turns out that the red and white crystal looking sprinkles were peppermint flavored. Glad the kids found out before I did, that would have been disastrous for me. I simply do not like anything peppermint flavored, yes, that includes peppermints.

With the leftover white chocolate we had I didn't want to throw it out or just have the kids consume it, so I mixed it with broken pretzels, marshmallows and chocolate chips. It was a SWEET Fourth of July at our house.
